Rachel, I think because it is rounded, they have a small area to balance on. When you add all of their playful energy, it makes it rather fun to watch.
Hi Judy, the little ones use it as a napping place at times during the day. It also is a place the younger goats can get away from the bigger goats who sometimes like to bully everyone.
That must be quite a slippy surface - someone told me goats are sure-footed!
