Vase

Felt a bit stressed this week and wanted to make something to help ease my nerves.  I took some wool that was bright and cheerful and spun it thin and then did some thicker strands.  I then put them both together and this is what I ended up with.  The vase itself was wet felted onto a resist.  This was my first time using a solid resist.  It did take some patience and has a couple thinner areas...but all in all it was a good learning experience!

  1. If that's your first go on a solid resist I think you've done really well! I always tend to get thinner areas as it's hard to lay down the fibres evenly over something three-dimensional. You have some beautiful colours in your hand-dyed wool, I really want to experiment with dyeing but just haven't got the time at the moment! xx
